7 - THINGS TO CONSIDER - Intertextuality

INTERTEXTUALITY

Intertextuality will of course inevitably be used in the music video indirectly, but I would like to make at the very least an attempt to utalise this technique as the results can be incredibly effective. Similarly to the previously mentioned Lord Huron music video "Time To Run", the video heavily references the style and acting of spaghetti westerns, down to the editing that makes the video itself appear old.

I would like to do something similar in my own music video, referencing the style and appearance of films around the '50s and '60s. I think this will help match the sound of the track as well as create a nostalgic theme to the video itself.

It is very likely, however, for me to use intertextuality in the video referencing previous shots directly. This will help to continue the story forward and add some detail to the visual information given to the audience.
