5 - TRACK CHOICE - Meet Me In The Woods

MEET ME IN THE WOODS

I had written up a list of songs that I had an interest in and would fit the requirements for the coursework, each of which I had different reasons for considering. The majority of my initial choices could not count as anthem songs at all, and it took me some time to find the right song to work with for this task.

In the end I decided to go with "Meet Me in the Woods" by Lord Huron. This song was released in the album "Strange Trails" in 2005. The structure of the song gives way for a similarly structured music video, giving well divided sections that can sync well with a narrative in the music video that of course uses moments in the visuals to match the audio. Another reason I decided to choose this song is because of the tone that it has, as well as the immediate visual implications that are made in the lyrics. Despite this, the lyrics are still incredibly vague, with no confirmed meaning to them, at least as of yet. This also gives me more creative freedom with the results of the music video.

RE-SHOOTS AND ADDITIONS When editing the majority of my re-shoots were done during the sections of the video when the protagonist is at home. This was quite lucky, as you can imagine. STEVE BARRON Steve Barron is an Irish filmmaker and director born in 1956, Dublin. He started work in films as a camera assistant, and slowly growing to have directed for a huge number of films, TV shows and music videos, as well as doing all sorts of other works. Some notable works include directing a number of episodes from the television series "The Storyteller", produced by Jim Henson, along with directing the films "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in 1990 and "The Adventures of Pinocchio" in 1996. He is most known, however, for his work on Micheal Jackson's music video for the song "Billie Jean", Bryan Adams' music video for both "Summer of '69" and "Run to You", as well as directing the music video for Aha's "Take on Me".
